• Open Pro Tools, create a new audio track and insert the Plugin on it.
  • Add a new MIDI track. At the I/O panel, set the output as the Plugin inserted on the audio track and pick the channel 1. At the Input, you can select All or your specific controller:

  • Enable Track Record on the MIDI track and Monitoring on the audio track.
  • Click on the Plugin insert of the audio track to open the Plugin window. If Pro Tools recognizes your MIDI controller, you should be able to use the MIDI Learn function to notes, PC, and CC messages to different parameters and presets.
  • Select a preset, right-click over it, and hit Enable MIDI Learn. press a note/key twice to assign it to the preset, disable MIDI Learn, and repeat the process with any other preset/parameter you want to assign. If everything worked, you will see a MIDI icon next to the assigned preset:

  • After this, you can continue to assign preset using the MIDI Mappings window. Keep in mind that there may be an offset of notes/MIDI messages between the DAW and the Plugin (example: C2 on the Plugin = C0 on the DAW, PC0 on the Plugin = PC1 on the DAW).
  • You can also write notes on the MIDI region to automate parameters/preset changes:
