Have your PC or laptop USB ports stopped working? To fix this, you need to diagnose the root of the problem. Here are some tips you need to know to quickly get your Quad Cortex working again.

Avoid USB 2.0 Hubs

You can plug a USB 2.0 device into a USB 3.0 port and it will always work, but it will only run at the speed of the USB 2.0 technology. The same applies if you use a USB 2.0 cable with a USB 3.0 device.

Despite Quad Cortex features a USB 2.0 Type B port, we don't recommend using USB 2.0 hubs to connect it to your computer. The bad quality of the USB hub could be a detrimental factor. USB devices may stop functioning correctly when multiple devices connected to the same USB hub go into selective suspend.

On our testing procedures, USB-C hubs work perfectly fine with Quad Cortex providing enough power and a strong connection.

Avoid front-panel USB ports

USB devices like Quad Cortex may stop functioning correctly or turn completely unresponsive when they are attached to front-panel USB ports of PC cases.

We strongly recommend using motherboard ports (USB 2.0 or higher) instead.

Quad Cortex is not recognized

Despite the Quad Cortex is connected properly, it could be missing from the audio devices list.

To fix that, try disconnecting your Quad Cortex via USB to the computer and turn off the unit for 30 seconds (by disconnecting the power cable).

After that, connect it again and turn it on to get the unit recognized.
